What reinforces the stereotypes are the roles women play in movies and TV shows. Women usually play the damsel in distress, the one who needs to be saved, almost always by a strong handsome man. This shows people that men are the dominant people in the relationship or just in life in general. Women also wear very revealing outfits in movies and TV shows. So in movies like Civil War, where there is finally an important woman superhero such as Black Widow, she still wears showy outfits that demoralize her. In most movies with Vanessa Hudgens, she gets drenched with water so her clothes stick to her showing off her figure. Even if the actress gives women a serious important name, they still in someway also bring women down

Media Overview
The media reinforces many stereotypes. Most of the stereotypes harm women. Not only do the stereotypes effect the way men look at women, but also the way women look at themselves. Women barely take up any of the important jobs that are "meant" for men. This is because people think that women only care about how they look and can't be serious about work. Sadly this gives women such a less advantage in the work place.

The merchants of cool
The merchants of cool is a movie about how advertisers get their product out. In this movie, the advertisers give their secrets about how they attract people to watch their tv shows and sell their products. The truth is, they seem to have to know a lot about a person before they can even start the layout of a commercial to try to sell their products.
The advertisers actually know everything about a person before selling them their product. They sell what they think the customer would want based on the apps they have, what they buy at the supermarket, what pictures they have on social media, and who they follow on social media. Based on this, not only can they judge what to sell the person, but also they can do door to door polls. This way, they can appeal to your wants based on what you buy.
Another interesting thing in this movie were the "cool hunters." These people go to kids houses and just take notes on what they like. They also make sure to find out what the kids own. By doing this, the advertisers can predict what will be cool next. They can also find out who is cool and have those people, as they are in college, throw parties and hand out fliers for their products.
Miss representation
Miss representation is a movie about how women are being misrepresented in media. Women are not as prominent in media, such as a news broadcaster, or a producer, or even in advertising. This is peculiar because women watch television so much more than men. However, the women, though they admit that it is wrong, don't do anything to change it and keep watching these movies.

Even so, there are a few women who are in important media jobs. Even so, the women in these jobs are scrutinized more than men. Many people are more likely to listen to what men are saying. On the other hand, many people are more likely to look at a woman's clothes and judge the way she looks before they listen to what is actually coming out of her mouth.
Overall, in this movie, there are many people who give their input on the problem. People such as the secretary of the state felt witnessed first hand, the sexism she felt as she sat next to the president. People think that women are more bright and more likely to succeed than men. This makes it harder for women to get a job because of the stereotype that men are more productive than women.

Pizza My Heart
If you think about it, Pizza My Heart is a brilliant business. I don't know many people who don't know of pizza my heart, let alone had a slice of pizza there. Pizza My Heart is a chain pizza place with amazing pizza. They are very family freindly and not very fancy, but won't judge at all. The slices of pizza are huge so you get a lot for how much you pay.

The place my family and I usually get our pizza from is either in Capitola or Santa Cruz. There are so many other places that Pizza My Heart exists. Because it is a chain, there are many Pizza My Hearts and I believe the business is still growing.
Pizza My Heart is so brilliant evacuee they sell shirts really cheap to go along with their pizza. Each place has a it's name under the Pizza My Heart logo so everybody knows where you got it. Not only is it only six dollars for the shirt and the pizza, but they are so comfortable too! And they are just plain material so you can practice in them and basically do anything you want in them. Sometimes there are even special shirts for different occasions. But, not only are we getting a deal with cheap comfortable shirts, but they are too. With so many people walking around with Pizza My Heart shirts, theee are advertisements everywhere.
Sketchers
But lately, sketchers have been trying to chane how they are looked upon. When I was little they were what every little kid was wearing. Then in elementary school/middle school, I saw a commercial where there were kids who were running away from a tire monster. And the you on their sketchers and they could defeat the monster and than out run him.
Now, sketchers is trying to make people think they are completely new. Recently they made a few commercials with adults wearing sketchers. The commercial was made up of women who said that they always wear sketchers. They said that sketchers are cute now and they are so comfortable. Now, instead of being a sneaker, they look more like flats, kind of like Toms. Sketchers is trying to renew themselves, but I don't think it will work.
L'oreal
L'oreal is a fairly successful brand that produces beauty products. This brand covers nail polish, make up, skin care, hair color, hair care, and much more. I know that I have bought a few l'oreal products and my mom buys a lot of l'oreal. The only mascara she uses is from l'oreal. Needless to say, l'oreal is doing good with selling it's many products.

Most of l'oreals ads use the sex appeal to show the customers that buying l'oreal will only do you good. With it's hair products, usually they just use somebody with the "ultimately beautiful hair" to show people why they should use the l'oreal products. Which would be so that have the hair that they want. That's why it would make sense that they used Chris Hemsworth as a model for their ad.

Chris Hemsworths hair is practically perfect. His hair is beautifully blonde and shiny when the sun hits it. Also, in this ad, his hair is very long, filling up the entire background of the ad showing how this hair grew long and perfect because he used l'oreal. The ad is also really simple, for the only words on it are l'oreal Paris. This makes it easier for people to admire the hair because there is only a little bit they have to read.
L'oreal also used Chris Hemsworth as the model because it can apply to both men and women. As we have learned recently, the advertisers and marketers have a harder time connecting with the men than the women. So by having Chris Hemsworth be the model, they are showing the men that they can still be manly and use l'oreal giving them good hair, and by showing the women, if they buy their husbands l'oreal they will have beautiful har like Chris Hemsworth.
Cabin
To me, the meaning of cabin is being able to relax and take in the fresh air and slow down for a second. However, when I went up to my cabin yesterday, that's not what happened. We drove up and there was water gushing out of the front door. We brought the wrong keys so we had tear down the door and when we got inside, the cabin was completely flooded, mild everywhere.
Needless to say, my weekend of final relaxation since I have been so stressed this year, was just a day of cleaning out my greatgrandmother and greatgrandfather's precious belongings, since it was my greatgrandfather who built the cabin. This made me think about how important the cabin was to me. Unlike almost all other cabins, my cabin had no wifi or tv or anything. But instead of board and annoyed as many would be, it always makes me take a step back and read a book, breathe in the fresh air while I am on the hammock on out patio, swim in the creek which is just a free yard off our patio, or go for a hike around the cabin and find new places.
When I realized we couldn't stay the night because of the mold, I was very sad. When I got home and went straight to technology, I got even more sad. Technology overruns our life so much, sometimes we can't even enjoy it. I have it in my head that I can only relax when I am at my cabin, but that's not true. I just always go to the technology before anything else. Because the cabin doesn't let me do this, I have that idea in my head.
DISNEYLAND
Disneyland is my favorite place to go in the entire world. My family and our family friends started a tradition of going to disneyland before I was born. They started when my sister was a baby. So the Kuskes and the Stanton's would go to disneyland one a year. Usually we would go for three days. Disneyland for me, is not only about the rides, but it's about the way I feel when I walk down main street. It feels like I am where I am supposed to be. But don't get me wrong, I love the rides too!
This ad shows the perfect aspects of disneyland. The boy is smiling and there are sparkles all around. This shows that when you are at disneyland, you will always be happy and everything will always be good! The sparkles show the famous saying they have; "the most magical place in earth."
Also, this ad shows Goofey hugging the smiling little boy while he is holding onto a stuffed Goofey. This part of the ad shows the family aspect of disneyland. It means that disneyland will bring you closer to your family. When at disneyland, nothing can go wrong and everybody will be happy. Everyone will want to be in the moment with their family and everyone who is there with them.
Dove
This is a Dove ad about express yourself. In this picture, the girl, Sable has platinum hair. In a quote above, she says, "I LOVE MY PLATINUM HAIR." This is an example of how dove is trying to promote how they support you and how you want to express yourself and your beauty.
Sadly, the fact that dove has to support how you express yourself means that others do not. If you think about this, it's really depressing that a brand that doesn't even know you has to support you because there who do know you, don't. Although, I do think that dove is smart for doing this because there are many people who think that others don't believe in them and they need dove for this.
There are many people in our society who feel that they are not excepted. Many people who don't feel comfortable with their appearance, change themselves which is just a sign of insecurity. Other just would like to be different or are daredevils and don't really care. The fact that anybody would really care about how other people look is sad because there's no reason to make fun of somebody who is not doing anything to them.
Civil War
The movie Civil War is a Marvel studios movie about a freindly feud between Captain America and Iron Man. This movie has many morals to it, including, not keeping secrets from friends, or it will come back to bite you in the butt. Although this movie is about the argument between Captain America and Ironman, plenty of other characters are incorporated into this movie including many new heros joining hands.
Civil War has a lot of violence in it, but I don't really like violence, it scares me. So I, like other girls, go because I think Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans are fairly attractive. This is my reasoning for a lot of other events as well. I have a little brother and he is obsessed with superheros. So we saw Civil War before it came out.
I think the moral of the movie, Civil War was to not dwell on things from the past. I'm not going to give away the movie, but many of the personal problems with the superheros is that they hold grudges of things that have already happened and cannot be changed. This happens in the real world a lot as well. I know there are many people I hold grudges on and it would be more healthy for me if I let it go. The advice of letting go grudges should be taken by me along with many others.

Models
When it comes to modeling for girls, there is a certain type that everybody is looking for. Most models are very skinny with a pound of makeup on to make them look very young, and usually they are very young. This can hurt girls who grow up reading magazines, watching tv, and seeing billboards of these "beautiful women" who are always photoshopped. This kind of thing can be very hard for young girls to overcome.
This girl is a fourteen year old girl who looks like she's ten years older. This is just one of the examples of how models aren't who they really are. Girls have changed so much. I have realized that just from when I was in middle school, girls have changed their appearance, and not for the better. These girls have changed because they think that they need to become what society wants, when really, they should just be who they really are.
These models are the role models to so many girls. By looking ten years older then they are, they show others that they should also try to look older than they are. Girls are skipping parts of their life because they think that they need to be more mature earlier. They get this idea from the models they look up to. The problem with models is that they convince girls that they are not good enough and they need to look ten years older.

Pinterest is my favorite app in the world. I use Pinterest for recipes, hair ideas, cute pictures of puppies, cute animals, places to go, and so many other things. When I use social media, usually it isn't Instagram or snapchat or twitter, it's Pinterest. I go on Pinterest right before I got I sleep usually, and sometimes it keeps me up late. If I don't get enough sleep at night, it's almost always because I am on Pinterest.
Pinterest is a website where people can post anything, pictures, videos, recipes, and more. This makes it easy to find anything you want. Once you pin something you like, you get more things that are similar so that you can pin more things you like. Than, you can also follow boards. For example, I follow a bunch of boards with the subject of "Friends" the tv show. And whenever they pin something to that board, I can see it and if I like it, I can pin it. In a way, Pinterest is simple and that might be part of the reason I like it because my life is so chaotic.
This ad shows Pinterest with a arrow through the middle of a target, meaning that Pinterest is exactly what you need in your life, and I agree. The picture demonstrates how perfect Pinterest is. If you just try Pinterest, you would understand that Pinterest is simple and you can get anything you want from it. It will solve all of your problems!

Ever Us
May 9, 2016
The ever us wedding ring by Kay is a way to cheat you out of your money. The ever us wedding ring represents the fact that you are marrying your best friend. This mean a lot to some people, however, there are different ways to show your love.
The ever is ring has two diamonds intertwined and the words "ever us" inscribed inside the ring on the opposite side of the two diamonds. The commercial for this product tries to connect with the emotional side of finally marrying your best friend. But people should just be happy to marry their best friend with a regular ring rather than having to buy a ring with "ever us" inscribed in it. Something more sentimental should be inscribed.
People who buy these rings are ring cheated out of their money. The only special thing about these rings is that they have two diamonds and "ever us" inscribe inside it. You could get a lot more worth for your money. All of the "ever us" rings are the same. People like unique things especially when it comes to rings. It would be much more special if you get a special ring and inscribe it with something special.
Shrek 2
May 30, 2016 (should have been)
The movie Shrek 2 is a family favorite in my household. Shrek is like a fairy tale, however, there isn't really a princess. So we can all agree on watching it and my brother and my dad don't have to be scared of loosing their manliness. Our family likes funny movies, so we like whenever somebody is clumsy in the movie.
This movie actually has a big moral behind it though. This movie shows that people should not judge by how things look. Fiona's parents judged Shrek and his influence on Fiona as soon as they stepped out of the onion carriage. This hurt Fiona deeply, let alone Shrek who decided he had to change his appearance to "fit in" with Fiona and her family.
This also shows how we should not change your appearance for other people. If they don't like you for who you are, they don't deserve you. This moral should be applied to every teenager who ever lived. Like many teens, Shrek gave into other people'a judgement of him and changed into someone who was not him at all.
Last but not least, this movie shows that sometimes, happily ever afters are not always what they are expected to be. This shows that once people grow up, it is important for them to realize that usually there isn't a Prince Charming waiting for you, it an ogre. However, the ogre will make you more happy and so it's important to do what makes you happy.

Media's effect on me
April 24, 2016 (written but wouldn't upload)
I have recently realized that social
media has become a big part of my life. Recently, I haven't had enough time to
go on social media, with the club soccer, high school soccer, and homework, but
I still fit it into my schedule. I know that social media is not very good for
me personally, because I always go on right before I go to bed, after I finish
all my homework, practices and games, so I end up staying up later than I
should. But if I don't go on instagram or snap chat, I feel bad for some
reason, like I will miss something somebody said. Thinking back on it now, it
kind of seems like a withdrawal, so I guess I am addicted to social
media.
Sk8er boi
April 30, 2016 (supposed to be blog wouldn't post)
He was a boy
She was a girl
Can I make it any more obvious
He was a punk
She did ballet
What more can I say
He wanted her
She'd never tell secretly she wanted him as well
But all of her friends
Stuck up their nose
They had a problem with his baggy clothes
He was a skater boy
She said see you later boy
He wasn't good enough for her
She had a pretty face
But her head was up in space
She needed to come back down to earth
Five years from now
She sits at home
Feeding the baby she's all alone
She turns on t.v
Guess who she sees
Skater boy rockin' up MTV
She calls up her friends
They already know
And they've all got
Tickets to see his show
She tags along
Stands in the crowd
Looks up at the man that she turned down
He was a skater boy
She said see you later boy
He wasn't good enough for her
Now he's a super star
Slamming on his guitar
Does your pretty face see what he's worth?
He was a skater boy
She said see you later boy
He wasn't good enough for her
Now he's a super star
Slamming on his guitar
Does your pretty face see what he's worth?
Sorry girl but you missed out
Well tough luck that boy's mine now
We are more than just good friends
This is how the story ends
Too bad that you couldn't see,
See the man that boy could be
There is more that meets the eye
I see the soul that is inside
He's just a boy
And I'm just a girl
Can I make it any more obvious
We are in love
Haven't you heard
How we rock each others world
I'm with the skater boy
I said see you later boy
I'll be back stage after the show
I'll be at the studio
Singing the song we wrote
About a girl you used to know
I'm with the skater boy
I said see you later boy
I'll be back stage after the show
I'll be at the studio
Singing the song we wrote
About a girl you used to know
This song is a childhood favorite. Coming out in August of 2002, my sister was 7 and I was 3. That being said, my sister was a bigger fan of the song than I was, but I always wanted to do everything she did, so I love it too. There are many memories I affiliate with this song as we listened to it mostly when we were in the old house in Elk Grove and on the way to our cabin. I also enjoy this song because it is upbeat and I cannot deal with sad slow songs.
Sk8er boi is an upbeat song. The fact that it is so fast moving makes it easy for many people to overlook the moral of the song. The song shows how people judge books by the cover. Everybody has done this at a time in their life, however, this can be very hurtful for people who are being judged. It has become so much a part of human nature, but people may be so hurt by this, they could result to suicide.
Another moral that this song shows in giving into peer pressure. The main person in this song has given into the peer pressure of her friends who tell her that the "skater boy" is not good enough for her. However, because of her friends, she missed out on dating a famous person. Although this is a mild consequence, many others who give into peer pressure have much more harsh consequences. This is because many people give into the pressure of drugs and drinking.
This song is amazing because of the upbeat of it and the morals that shape our lives. The artist, Avril Lavine, sings about because of the girl's mistake, she was able to date the boy of her dreams. Because of the girl who messed up because of her friends, Avril ended up dating her best friend from high school
